3D Technology
Mirror Rigs vs. Side-by-Side RigsSide-by-side Rigs carry two cameras next to each other. To create a three dimensional effect in a very wide shot you need the wide interaxial distance they can provide. Side-by-side rigs are ideal for panoramic and aerial shots, but close-up and detail shots can hardly be achieved as most high resolution cameras are too large to be setup very close together.Mirror Rigs like the ones from P+S TECHNIK allow overlapping the images of both cameras regardless the size of cameras to achieve very narrow interaxial distances for perfectly beautiful close-up and detail shots, but are necessarily limited to a certain maximum interaxial distance defined by the size of the mirror box. The mirror box setup is the base for the Standard Rig as well as for the very lightweight and easy-to-balance P+S TECHNIK Freestyle Rig.

Adjustments options:
Interaxial distance By adopting the interaxial (distance between the optical axes of the cameras) the 3D depth of the 3D shot can be adopted. It is very important to calculate the right interaxial in order not to exceed the limits of human vision.Angulation By adopting the angulation (convergence) between the two cameras, the position of the 3D object relatively to the screen can be adopted.Mirror, Tilt and Roll adjustment These three features are tools for fine adjustment of the rig to compensate misalignments in the camera, etc.Motorisation All 3D Stereo Rigs offered by P+S TECHNIK can be motorized using a standard lens control system. Currently all setups are tested at least with the Cmotion and Chrosziel lens control systems. Further tests to certify other systems are planned. Standard RIG
The Standard Rig masters all kinds of applications familiar from 2D recording:A sophisticated calibration mechanism allows accurate and easy adjustment of two cameras – that saves valuable time on set.Shoot on a tripod, on a crane or even on
